篠山の家（兵庫・篠山）

　兵庫県篠山市、山間の田園風景が広がる自然豊かな地にある、農家だったという伝統的な日本家屋をリノベーション。都心から移住した親子3人が暮らしている。
　どっしりとした建物の外観はほぼもとのまま。趣きがあるとは言いがたいコンクリートブロック塀は解体した。そのほか、必要最低限なもの以外は撤去し、周囲のおおらかな自然との調和をはかりながら造園を計画している。
　内部ではすべてを改修するのではなく、既存の延床面積の半分程度、77平方メートルに手を入れた。玄関を入ると印象的な通り土間が出迎える。この通り土間を中心に、そこを行き来しながら暮らせるようにしている。間取りは家族の距離感や過ごし方を大切にし、それぞれ用途の違う部屋のつながりがスムーズになるよう工夫した。土間と、和室の上階にある収納庫だった部屋は吹き抜けにして開放感を出している。
　年を経て生まれた独特の味わいを保つため、畳や木製の建具などはほぼそのまま残した。窓の位置など、光や風の取り入れ方は変えずに明暗のリズムがある往年の雰囲気を再現している。
　天井と壁には、この地域で採取した土を混ぜた「灰中（はいなか）」という独特の砂漆喰を使った。調湿作用があり、モノクロームだが暖かみのある柔らかい印象を与える。床はリビングとダイニングで段差をつけ、それぞれ異なるフローリング材を張って空間にリズムをつけた。改修した部分には環境に優しい素材を使った、極寒地域向けの断熱材を採用している。
　新旧が出会う部分は雑味が出ないよう、それぞれの空間がすっきりと調和して、全体として違和感がないよう配慮した。造園計画など、周辺環境とのつながりも意識している。
　建物を通じて日本の新旧の時間軸を感じることができる。家族はもちろんゲストもおおらかに迎え入れてくれる住居となるよう、願いをこめた。

Sasayama city in Hyogo prefecture, is located in mountains region where rich natural environment with rural landscape is spreading. Once upon a time, it is said that a farmer family used to live in a traditional Japanese house in this region. After the completion of renovation of this house, the parents and their child, three of them start to live there, moving from the center of city.

The outside exterior appearance remains almost the same as it was before renovation, but the existing concrete masonry walls are dismantled and removed except the minimum required amount, as it is hard to say the wall has a refined look, and the landscape plan was created, harmonizing with the surroundings.

The inside of the house, dirt floor corridors are impressive, so almost all the existing tatami, wooden fittings are left as they are, to feel the change of time passage.

Not every part of the space is changed, but for about the half of floor space, which is 77㎡, the plan was set to be renovated and revived for a new housing life, and regarding how to receive light and wind, so as not to affect the existing atmosphere as much as possible, taking the rhythm of brightness and darkness into consideration.

As to plaster-finish-like ceiling and wall, “Hainaka”, the material which has been traditionally used in this region, is selected, because it has not only effect of humidity adjustment, but warm and soft impression even though it is a single color.
About floor, between living and dining rooms, a difference level is set, and different flooring materials are used, for rhythm of space.
For the thermal insulation of the renovated place, frigid weather model and environmentally friendly materials are used.

The details of space is designed to harmonize with between the existing and renovated places, producing a sense of unity as a whole.

The main concept of this house is, connection with the surroundings, time axis of Japanese oldness and newness through architecture, how close and distant and how to spend life time with family, connection of each room use purpose, and not only family members but also their guests, would be warmly welcomed by this house.
